Details on Kia Hamstar Soul Special Edition

By Automotive Staff | May 16, 2011
You knew it was only a matter of time. Kia has been attempting to keep the Soul fresh in buyers’ minds by introducing numerous special edition models. This time around, the company combined two of its most successful assets: the old school hip-hop hamsters and the third-best selling Kia in the U.S. (behind the Sorento midsize crossover and nearly tied with the Forte compact) to bring us the Kia Soul “Hamstar” Edition. As with its other special edition models, the Soul’s drivetrain remains the same, but a graphics and wheel package undergo a rockstar, er hamster, makeover. The body gets a lower bumper trim, black split five-spoke wheels, and a matte black graphics set that include a star cutout on the hood with the signature Hamstar script logo, and two black finish stripes on passenger vehicle’s sides. Moving to the interior, black chenille star cutouts appear on the back side of the front headrests, along with “special” hamster floor mats. As if the stars weren’t enough to scream for attention, the special edition vehicle only comes in Molten Red paint, in which the color also appears on the red/black sport cloth seat materials.
Pricing has not been announced, but expect to see the Hamstar in Kia showrooms shortly. via Kia courtesy of Motor Trend Staff

you can bet your bottom dollar that the Hamstar bit (come on, its Hamster with a posh accent !!) is purely and simply to make sure that Richard Hammond on the Beebs Top Gear programme wants to zoom around the test track in it .... errr, is it capable of "zooming" though ?? We shall see no doubt Rob
