Detroit Throws in Bid to Host X-Games

Los Angeles has been home to the X-Games for as long as many can remember, but in a recent turn of events, Detroit has issued a bid to have the X-Games moved from the streets of downtown L.A. to those of Detroit. The video below was created as the city's bid to bring the X-Games to their turf. The video showcases the different locations that could be used for different events, as well as some inventive places. Competitors of every segment throw down tricks on the streets of Detroit, including BMX riders, skateboarders, and drifters. Of course Detroit couldn't make a video bid without advertising one of its own creations. The Ford Focus ST can be seen drifting through the streets, taking up a good chunk of the video. Even though the video made it seem like Detroit is a good choice, muggings will not be a segment of the competition, despite the disappointment of many. It seems that even more than the city of Detroit, the competitors who have taken part in this video want to see this move happen. Watch the video below to see just why Detroit should host the next X-Games. It's where Detroit thinks they belong. Do you think the move is the right choice? Source: XGamesDetroit via YouTube

"Even though the video made it seem like Detroit is a good choice, muggings will not be a segment of the competition, despite the disappointment of many."

The city of Detroit has hosted the Super Bowl, World Series, International music festivals drawing hundreds of thousands of people, Indy Car races, the MLB All Star Game, etc. I didn't hear a thing about crime or muggings being an issue at any of these events. What is your point in making this statement about muggings? If it was humor, I suggest you go back to comedy school. If it was meant to be informative, I suggest you try a visit back to your journalism classes.

Yes Yes Yes Detroit is the Perfect Location. ESPN will be foolish to do it somewhere else. Time to Bring it to the Midwest and Detroit is Key for it's success
