Dodge Offering Third Row Seating, Engine Upgrade for the Journey Free of Charge in March
Dodge has announced today that for every Journey sold in the month of March, the Detroit-based automaker will throw in a third row of seating and a fuel sipping engine free of charge. These incentives come after February sales figures were some of the best monthly sales Chrysler has ever seen. “We’re building on our momentum by taking one of our most unique attributes – seven-passenger seating – and making it even more accessible to hard-working families," said Reid Bigland, Dodge brand president and CEO. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine will now come standard on the SXT model along with the American Value Package and SE models. Dodge Journey SXT models will now command a price of $22,995, not including the destination charge. The Journey SXT's new price represents a $1,500 drop compared to the V-6 model. The four-cylinder serves up 173 horsepower, and achieves 26 mpg on the highway while the V-6 Pentastar engine is rated at 283 horsepower and achieves 25 mpg on the highway. Customers shopping for an SXT model Journey can still opt for the V-6 Pentastar engine, but all SXTs come standard with features like 17-inch wheels, Sirius Satellite radio, push-button starter, a 4.3-inch Uconnect screen, and a steering wheel and shifter knob wrapped in leather. Other features include four-wheel disc brakes and ABS, LED tail lights, and seven airbags strategically placed in the interior. Another bonus incentive going on during the month of March includes free third row seating, an option that usually costs $995. The Flexible Seating Group as it's known as includes an easy entry second-row 60/40 Tilt'n Slide seat, three zone heating and air-conditioning and a third row 50/50 folding and reclining seat. Dodge is offering these incentives for new 2012 Journeys until April 2, 2012. Source: Dodge
