Official: 2014 Cadillac CTS Revealed with Less Weight, More Power Than German Competitors

By Keith Buglewicz | March 26, 2013
The 2014 Cadillac CTS is here, and we approve. Offering a compelling array of engines, an emphasis on luxury and sporty driving, and all of it in a bigger overall vehicle, the new CTS aims to take on the likes of rivals like the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. On paper, the new CTS has the chops for it, too. It's lighter than the BMW 528i, and its twin-turbo V-6 has more power than the BMW 550i's V-8 engine. With no shortage of technological advancements, high-end interior trim with real wood, and even some luxury silliness courtesy of a power center console cupholder lid (you just can't make that stuff up), Cadillac aims to take the fight to Germany. Can it pull it off? Check out our full coverage of the 2014 Cadillac CTS at the 2013 New York Auto show and see.

Stunning. No way in the world this beautiful vehicle apes the Hyundai-like Mercedes. It's got presence-and the design is extraordinary in its attention to detail. With 420 hp available (in a Non-V!), this vehicle will shame the competition.

The fugly slab design GM will never let go and will ride into the grave. Amazing that they just didn't run the LEDs around the wheel wells too and be done with it. What's the word I'm looking for? Ostentatious or pretentious? Maybe butt ugly would suffice.

It seems less angular. Is that right? Softer, curvier

That thing is gorgeous. Much improved over the outgoing model.
