Dubai Police Call 700 HP Brabus Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG "Safe"
Dubai has become a veritable buffet of exotic sports cars, the kind that go really, really fast. What's law enforcement to do? Take an already silly-blistering performance beast, such as the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG, and tune it for even more silliness. What's more, call it "safe" to keep things on the level. As part of the "Tune it! Safe!" initiative to promote safe, responsible, and legal tuning in Germany, the aftermarket specialist Brabus does what it does best: make great vehicles like the G 63 AMG, the stuff of enthusiast fodder and legend. In this case, the taking the already impressive 5.5-liter V-8 biturbo, good for 536 hp, and juicing it up to an exotic-car-pursuing 700 horses, to make the Brabus B63S - 700 Widestar. The Tune it! Safe! Police vehicle can also hit 60 mph in just under five seconds (4.9 seconds to 62 mph). And of course Tune it! Safe! says this car is about promoting safe tuning (naturally). Safely, they've added Brabus Monoblock R Platinum Edition 23-inch wheels; fender flares; LED side step illumination; front and rear bumpers; spoilers; a Ride Comfort suspension with sporty and comfort settings; floor mats with black and leather edging; and an illuminated Brabus logo on all five doors. The special Brabus Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG police vehicle was on display at the Dubai International Motor Show, and will—we're sure to the delight of the Dubai police—join its stable of unconventional cop cars.
