Father and Son Tandem Team Up To Find a Dodge Journey

If you like the Dodge Journey and going on wild goose chases, then Dodge's "Search Engine for Real World" campaign is just what you've been waiting for. Dodge launched a bevy of television and internet commercials last Friday showcasing the Journey being a vehicle capable of going anywhere. As part of the campaign, Dodge hid three Journeys in the "world wide world" and hinted their whereabouts with clues in the commercial. Bruce and Matthew Armbrust, a father and son from Gardnerville, Nev., were watching college football when the commercial first aired. Both are avid hikers and recognized a sign that appeared briefly on screen tipping them off to the commercial's whereabouts. The Armbrust's set out the following morning to find the Journey and uncovered it 16 hours after they first saw the commercial. “The minute we saw the commercial, Matthew and I were determined to find and win the Journey,” said Bruce Armbrust. “We love the great outdoors and taking road trips, which means the storage space in the Journey will be put to good use.”
There are still two more Journeys somewhere out in the world waiting to be discovered. A new television and digital commercial will begin airing Sept. 17 and the third spot on Sept. 24. Each will have details about where to find the Journey in its respective locations. Up next in the Journey scavenger hunt is the Midwest, followed by the East a week later. You can watch the commercials on Dodge's youtube site. The 2012 Dodge Journey starts at $18,995 and has the most cargo space in its class with 67.6 cubic feet. The Journey can be configured with a four cylinder or the new Pentastar V-6 engine, five or seven passenger seating and front or all-wheel drive. Is this a good marketing plan by Dodge?
