Fiat Joins Forces with Mopar to Announce 'Fiat SEMA Design Challenge'

Fiat and the Chrysler Group's Motor Parts service branch, better known as "Mopar," have teamed up for the "Fiat SEMA Design Challenge." Fiat's Facebook fans can submit their original Fiat 500 vehicle wrap for a chance to have their work showcased at the 2011 Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas from November 1-4. Those who are interested in the contest can download a wrap template from Fiat's Facebook page. Contestants have until October 5 to upload their design and the top 10 wraps will be showcased on Fiat's Facebook page for fans to vote on. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 19 with the top three wraps getting fabricated and showcased at the SEMA show. The newest Fiat 500 made its North American debut back in 2010 at the Chicago Auto Show with production starting soon after. The petite 500 marked the first Fiat sold in the U.S. and Canada since the brand left the North American market in 1984. The Americanized version of the 500 offers the same models as its European sibling with the Pop, Lounge, and Sport all an option. It's powered by a 1.4-liter engine with 101 horsepower, and the whole car has been reengineered to accommodate American roads and the buyers who pilot them. Most recently Fiat launched a marketing campaign in an effort to stir-up some attention for the pint-sized 500. In Fiat's latest commercial pop-star Jennifer Lopez is driving the 500 around a small town with a crowd of people chasing her and dancing. We'll leave it to you to make the connection to the 500.  With help from Mopar and the amount of foot-traffic SEMA commands, Fiat hopes this contest will further the 500's brand presence among the small car market in America.
