Ford Recalls 2945 Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montegos for Fuel Tank Issue
Ford is recalling 2945 of its 2007 Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego full-size sedans. The problem is that the fuel tanks may not have consistent welds between the fuel tank and fuel filler neck spud. Some fuel tank spud welds may not provide enough strength in the event of a severe rear impact of the vehicle, reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This could cause a fuel odor, a fuel leak, or the emissions malfunction indicator light to turn on. The recall affects 2945 Ford Five Hundreds and Mercury Montegos that were made between September 6, 2006 and September 11, 2006. The recall will begin on or around August 15, 2011, where Ford dealers will replace the fuel tank free of charge. Source: NHTSA
Turns out, Groupon might not be the best way to advertise for a new car dealership.
