Ford to Update Sync and MyFord Touch Next Week

By | August 06, 2013
Ford has set out to improve customer satisfaction with MyFord Touch and Sync and will soon be launching updates for voice recognition and the complete infotainment system. All Ford and Lincoln customers will be able to download the free update next week via the internet. Features that have been addressed in the update include phone pairing, simpler voice recognition commands, and a more user-friendly touchscreen. The chief complaint that has centered on MyFord Touch and Sync is the touchscreen. Currently, customers must touch the upper or lower portion of the buttons for phone, navigation, audio, or climate. After the update, users will be able to touch anywhere around the buttons to select the feature. The voice commands have been streamlined, allowing for unneeded steps to be bypassed. These updates are just the latest fixes that Ford is performing on its technology systems to better the customer experience. Despite complaints over the systems, around 80 percent of all Ford vehicles purchased include one or both of these systems. Although the quality rankings for both MyFord Touch and Sync have suffered in the past, the automaker is confident that with these new changes, customer satisfaction as a whole will improve.
