GM Recalls 194,000 SUVs Including Chevrolet Trailblazer and GMC Envoy

By Matthew Askari | June 17, 2013
General Motors is issuing a recall for 193,652 SUVs from the 2006-2007 model years, for a potential water leak issue on the driver's side door that could affect electrical components. Recalled models include the Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Saab 9-7X, Buick Rainier, and Isuzu Ascender. Owners are advised to park their vehicles outside as a precautionary measure, as a short circuit could potentially cause a fire, even when the car is not in operation. The Issue Water can get inside the driver's side door, affecting an electric module. This could affect the door lock and unlock functions, and can also cause the module to corrode, which could spark a fire. The Fix Owners will be contacted and dealers will inspect and test the driver's side door module. If needed, a protective coating will be applied. If the module is found to be faulty, it will be replaced at no charge to the owner. GM will notify Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, to contact owners, and Saab and Isuzu will contact owners of their respective vehicles. The recall is expected to begin July 24, 2013. For more information, Buick owners may contact the owner center at (800) 521-7300, Chevrolet owners at (866) 694-6546, GMC owners at (866) 996-9463, Isuzu owners at (800) 255-6727, and SAAB owners at (855) 880-0808. GM's campaign number is 12180.
