Head 2 Head: 2014 Bentley Flying Spur vs. 2014 Rolls-Royce Ghost

By Matthew Askari | December 09, 2013
In the world of ultimate luxury automobiles, the 2014 Rolls-Royce Ghost and the 2014 Bentley Flying Spur represent two of the crown jewels. And while there are certain similarities—both are powered by powerful 12-cylinder engines, have a rich heritage, and cost as much as homes in some places—there are quite a few important distinctions. For one, the Rolls-Royce Ghost tested on this episode of Head 2 Head will run you $380,000, versus the Bentley Flying Spur's more "modest" price of $250,000. You can essentially get a fully loaded 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class for that extra $130k. But there are greater differences beyond price. The Ghost's twin-turbo V-12 is good for 563 horsepower, while the twin-turbo W-12 in the Flying Spur makes 616 hp. In the latest episode of Head 2 Head, Kim Reynolds puts the ultra-luxe cars through their paces. Which is quicker? Which ones has a $41,000 paint job? Which one was referred to aesthetically as a "Hot Pocket?" You can check out the video below for those answers and more.
