Head 2 Head Episode 13: Japanese Supercar Showdown Edition-Acura NSX vs. Lexus LFA
The land of the rising sun is no stranger to supercars. Before the modern day version of the Nissan GT-R was unleashed, Japan had been building supercars better than anywhere in the world. Automotive legends like the Acura NSX and the Nissan Skyline GT-R call Japan home and continuously gave the competition a serious run for its money. In today's installment of Head 2 Head, our cohorts over at Motor Trend match the original Acura NSX against the modern day Lexus LFA. Senior Features Editor Jonny Lieberman examines the LFA and NSX to gauge how far Japanese automotive engineering has come. As Lieberman points out in the video, neither Toyota (parent company of Lexus) nor Honda (parent company of Acura) rely on supercar sales to keep its doors open. In fact, both automakers have built its reputation on producing solid daily drivers that require little attention. So that fact that both produced a supercar (each equally as impressive) is a feat all its own. We're not going to spoil the latest installment of Head 2 Head, but we will tell you there's a healthy dose of engine revving. There's also a tunnel that forces Lieberman to take both cars to redline and an occasional winding road or two to test braking. Want to see what else Lieberman does with the Acura NSX and Lexus LFA?
