Head2Head: 2014 Audi R8 V10 Plus vs. 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Pack
If this were a battle of which sports car had more syllables in its name, the 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Pack would be at a dead heat with the 2014 Audi R8 V10 Plus, as both have inordinately long names. Try ensuring your valet can make sense of them. Fortunately, this is a car comparison and not a grammarian's duel of wits. The cars lined up for this week's episode of Head2Head are the latest and greatest from their respective automakers. In the red corner--we mean the Audi's corner--is the 2014 R8 V10 Plus, a higher-horsepower version of its V-10-powered mid-engine sports car, now with a smoother, quicker-shifting dual-clutch transmission. Both are driven by host Carlos Lago and professional driver Randy Pobst around both the Streets of Willow raceway. We won't give away any results; both are blisteringly fast, but one walks away from the other. Then Lago heads to the open road, where he checks out their prowess as daily drivers. Again, both can do it, but one is much better suited for the task than the other. In the end, which one does Lago declare the winner? We're not saying, but we'll give you a hint: It's red.
