With all the "Occupy Wall Street" protests in the U.S. and abroad, it's a change of pace to discover there are corporations which are creating jobs while en route to making moola. German automaker Mercedes-Benz has announced it will be expanding its manufacturing plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This will be the second expansion of the plant; in July, Mercedes announced it would be pouring more than $2 billion into the facility. Mercedes' newest investment will bring in $350 million to the plant and add around 400 new jobs. According to the automaker, this latest cash flow will be in preparation for a brand new Mercedes-Benz model to roll out sometime in 2015. Currently, the Tuscaloosa plant produces the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, GL-Class, and R-Class crossovers and SUVs. Starting in 2014, the plant will begin manufacturing an all-new Mercedes C-Class luxury car. “This new model from the Tuscaloosa plant is an important element of our growth strategy," Dieter Zetsche, chairman of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said in a statement. "It is one of the ten additional models which we will introduce within the next four years alone across all segments.” Source: Daimler/Mercedes-Benz
