Honda and Acura to Unveil Concepts in Shanghai
Honda announced earlier today that it will unveil two new concepts under both the Honda and Acura brands at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. Both concept models are set to be introduced to the Chinese market in the near future. Speculation says that the Acura concept is a crossover, smaller than the U.S. market Acura RDX. The intent, if it were to go into production, would be to compete in the burgeoning premium compact crossover market against vehicles such as the Buick Encore. On the other hand, Honda concept appears to be a minivan, likely a Chinese version of the Honda Odyssey; we don't expect it to share very much with the U.S. minivan.Guangqi Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. will share a booth at the show, with the slogan, "initiate new actions to create new things and carve out the future." Not only will the concepts be revealed during the show, but both Honda branches will reveal their all-new models. Honda is going to display models for both the Chinese and international markets based of the Concept C and Concept S. These two models were introduced last year at the Beijing Motor Show, and production models will be introduced this year. Acura will debut a global concept model, along with the Chinese version of the all-new RLX.Source: Honda
