Infiniti Q30 Concept Teased at Nissan 360, Including Interior
As well as teasing the concept car preview to the 2015 Nissan Maxima full-size sedan, the Nissan Motor Corp. also took the wraps off the Infiniti Q30, bound for September's Frankfurt Motor Show. In part, at least. The Infiniti Q30 previews the upcoming production version of the car, set to hit showrooms midway through 2015. At Nissan 360 last week--a worldwide event for journalists that was set up in Irvine, California, and which will continue through September--Infiniti's CEO Johan de Nysschen and Creative Director Shiro Nakamura showed off preview shots of the Q30. The car will be based on the same basic architecture as the Mercedes-Benz CLA- and GLA-Classes, and power may come from the same 208-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The look of the Infiniti Q30, demonstrated by the sketches, will look nothing like its Mercedes-Benz cousins. Infiniti is showing off the Q30 ahead of its mid-2015 debut. Then, Infiniti is planning on phasing out the now-entry-level Infiniti G37 and positioning the Q30 in the same realm as the BMW 1 Series, Audi A3, and Mercedes CLA. As you can see from the sketches, it will likely be a hatchback, whereas the others are mostly sold in coupe and sedan configurations. If that weren't enough, Infiniti teased the Q30 with a full-size sculpture behind its three concept cars on-hand at Nissan 360. Those had our curiosity; the Infiniti Q30 concept has our attention. Look for it to show up in two weeks in Frankfurt with plenty more details.
