It's Alive! 2013 Nissan Altima Preps for Rollout at U.S. Plant
The all-new 2013 Nissan Altima sedan made its debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show. Nissan announced today that production of the sedan will begin today at its Smyrna, Tenn., plant, with job number 1 rolling off the assembly line at 1 p.m. EDT. "The new Altima hits the consumer bulls-eye dead center by delivering a balance of style, performance and value that will continue to make it one of the most popular cars in America," Carlos Ghosn, Nissan president and CEO, said in a statement. Changes to the Nissan Altima for model year 2013 include a redesigned exterior, revamped interior, and refined engines. One of the most significant changes for 2013 is a drop in weight; the 2013 model is nearly eighty pounds lighter than the 2012 Nissan Altima. Nissan plans to roll out the 2013 Altima at dealerships sometime next month. Pricing starts at $22,260 for the base model, including $760 for destination and handling; the top-of-the line 2013 Nissan Altima SL is priced around $30,840. Source: Nissan
