Jaguar Sportbrake To Break Out At Geneva

By Blake Z. Rong | January 31, 2012
For various reasons or another, automotive enthusiasts and journalists have always been enamored with wagons. So aside from the glitz, glamour, and free liquor of the Geneva Auto Show in March, they now have another reason to go: to see the Jaguar XF wagon in person. The XF “Sportbrake,” in charming British parlance, has been teased in various “leaked” spy photos curiously left behind by the company, in an effort to drum interest; the swirly-canvassed mule even has its own Twitter handle. But when it debuts in Geneva, we journalists will get a close-up and see whether it will be both sleek and practical enough to compete against the likes of the Audi A6 Avant and BMW 5 Series wagon. After all, Jaguar has been meaning to break (no pun intended) into the mainstream luxury business against its German rivals for as long as anyone can remember, without losing its identity as a floating Blenheim Palace of sorts.
