Jeep Launches Campaign for 2012 Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Series has been nothing short of a grand slam for developer Infinity Ward and Activision publishing. The second installment and wildly popular first-person shooter video game was released for the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 video game consoles along with Microsoft Windows operating systems back in late 2009. As of early 2010, Modern Warfare 2 had reeled in more than $1 billion in revenue, with more than 25 million unique players according to Infinity Ward's Creative Strategist Robert Bowling. Jeep has been involved with the promotions of the second and now latest installment in the Modern Warfare series allowing the Wrangler to be portrayed in actual game play. The rugged off-roader, famous for going places others simply can't, even went as far to release a special edition to commemorate the game. With the third installment ready to be released to the masses at midnight tonight, Jeep will be at it again with an all-out advertisement blitz today. This campaign includes broadcast, digital, social media, and "experiential" events that show actual game play as well as reenactments with an actual Wrangler. “With its renowned, rugged capability and unique military heritage, the iconic Jeep Wrangler is a natural fit into ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,’” said Mike Manley, President and CEO, Jeep Brand. “Our partnership with Activision allows us to expose the Jeep Wrangler to new set of consumers through their extremely popular gaming experience and our latest exciting Wrangler advertising campaign.” The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Special Edition is advertised with a tagline that states it's "The toughest vehicle in the world. Any world." The special edition is slated to pop up at dealerships this month and will come with standard features such as 32-inch tires, Mopar exterior accessories, exclusive interior accents and Call of Duty graphics on the front fenders and spare tire cover. Based once again on the Rubicon model the special edition Wrangler also includes semi-gloss black wheels and is available in black or bright silver exterior colors.
