Jeep Shows Wrangler Arctic Edition at Frankfurt

By Trevor Dorchies | September 12, 2011
Jeep is doing its best to steal the spotlight from other automakers at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Headquartered in Detroit, the off-road extraordinaire brought four items to be previewed in Germany over the next two weeks. Alongside European debuts of the Grand Cherokee SRT8 and Chrysler's  Pentastar engine, the company is showing off an as-yet unseen additions: A Europe-only special edition Wrangler. The Arctic Edition Wrangler is actually based on its warmer climate cousin, the Sahara Edition, and borrows many of its styling cues. While the Yeti badges on the outside pay homage to the abominable snowman, Jeep surely hopes the various Mopar accessories will make the Arctic Edition a snow monster in its own right. Both the new Pentastar engine and the 2.8 liter diesel engine are offered in the Arctic Edition Wrangler. However, if you're reading this and live stateside, don't get too excited, since the Arctic Edition Wrangler will be only available at European Jeep dealerships in early 2012. Do you think Jeep should bring the Arctic Edition Wrangler to the U.S.? Or are you happy with it staying in Europe? Tell us what you think in the comment section below. Source: Jeep
