Kia, DC Entertainment Collaborate to Create Eight Specialized Vehicles to Fight Hunger in Africa
Kia has partnered up with DC Entertainment to create eight different superhero-themed vehicles to be auctioned off for charity. The first vehicle to be unveiled will be a Batman-themed Kia Optima on October 10, which coincides with the New York Comic-Con. Members of DC's Justice League who's anybody will be represented in these specialized vehicles. These superheroes include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Each superhero will be matched up to a Kia vehicle according to traits and other key attributes that they best represent. Kia models that have been chosen to be canvas include the Optima, Soul, Sorento, Sportage, Rio, and Forte. DC's own famous artist Jim Lee, West Coast Customs, RIDES magazine, Import Tuner magazine, and a few other outlets have all been tapped to design these superhero-themed vehicles. Each of the aforementioned design outlets will outfit the vehicles with recognizable traits and colors that best represent each vigilante. Over the course of the next 10 months, these vehicles will be unveiled at major auto shows around the country including New York Comic-Con, SEMA Show in Las Vegas, North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Wonder-Con,and San Diego Comic-Con. After they complete the auto show circuit, an eight, custom version which also toured will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the "We Can Be Heroes" campaign that is fighting to end hunger in the Horn of Africa.
