Kia Releases Photos of Sports Sedan Concept Ahead of Frankfurt

With plenty of speculation surrounding it, Kia took the wraps off a large sports sedan concept it plans on displaying at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Though few details are known, we know the four-seat vehicle will have a rear-wheel-drive layout and will probably slot above anything the Korean automaker has produced yet. Yesterday, leaks began surfacing that Kia would be introducing a large sedan with coupe-like proportions, similar to the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and Audi A7. Those rumors were confirmed today, with a car carries Kia’s modern design elements, yet takes them in a new, sportier direction by throwing in a little bit of Aston Martin One-77 up front. “No matter from which perspective you look at it – this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off,” said Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer, in a statement.
“I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast-forward to an all-new chapter.” Look for more details closer to the Frankfurt show and a potential production car spinoff currently known internally as the Kia K9. Source: Kia
