By Joel Arellano | April 04, 2012
Land Rover has been selling SUVs here in the states for 25 years and is throwing a bash at the 2012 New York Auto Show to celebrate. The luxury SUV maker, in a reversal of the usual gift-giving, is giving back to its fans with the debut of two limited edition vehicles and concepts. The 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Limited Edition is, as the name implies, based off the Range Rover Sport Supercharged model. Land Rover has customized the Range Rover Sport Supercharged Limited Edition with unique exterior styling cues and red brake calipers. Inside, the Range Rover Sport Supercharged Limited Edition gets carbon fiber trim, contrasting leather colors and stitching for a more sporty, yet luxurious, experience especially for the driver. There are no changes to the Range Rover Sport Supercharged's V-8 510-horsepower engine. All 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Limited Edition come in an exclusive white and black exterior paint colors. Land Rover plans to build only 500 of these models. As for the 2012 Land Rover LR4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition, changes are primarily cosmetic. Exterior-wise, the LR4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition gets 20-inch wheels and upgraded headlights. Inside, the Land Rover LR4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition gets more leather trim and a new wood veneer inserts. The 825 watt, 17-speaker Harmon/Kardon audio system is standard on the 2012 Land Rover LR4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition. Other models of note include the Land Rover DC100 Concept, which first debuted at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Land Rover has since equipped it with additional expedition gear including air-intake snorkel and integrated winch for pulling itself or other stuck vehicles out of ruts. Finally, Land Rover showed off the convertible concept model of its Range Rover Evoque at the New York Auto Show, which debuted last month in Geneva. The Land Rover Evoque convertible concept.
