Man Skydives and Lands in Moving 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible as Part of Campaign

As part of its new "As Sun As Possible" campaign with the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, Volkswagen is releasing a clip where an apparently loony enthusiastic skydiver jumps over the scenic North Shore coastline of Hawaii. But that's not the spectacular part. The skydiver somehow ends up doing his best Nadia Comaneci, miraculously landing in the Beetle. Yes, it seems insane, but it's certainly not impossible. The stunt may have been done several times until they were able to nail it, but it's still impressive even for an experienced skydiver control where they land, especially when that's in a moving car.
The As Sun As Possible campaign highlights stories from "six sun seekers," and features the Beetle Cabriolet prominently. We did our own sun seeking along the Southern California coastline a few months back, to test drive the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible. We loved the open-air fun and surprising handling, but found the experience greatly varies depending on which engine you opt for. The standard 2.5-liter engine was capable and would serve most drivers well, but it was the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, and the 2.0-liter diesel variant that we preferred. You can check out the video of the skydiver below, and learn more about the As Sun As Possible campaign here.
