Mark Your Calendars: Porsche Aims Cayenne GTS Debut at Paris Motor Show
Late last year, Porsche debuted the all-new 2012 911, drawing out the event from August through September to, finally, the big "reveal" at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Porsche rapidly followed with the debuts of the 2012 Panamera GTS at the same show, and the 911 Cabriolet (convertible to you and me) a week later. The next debut was to be a GTS version of the Porsche Cayenne, which was to debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show. Like the Panamera sedan, the 2012 Porsche Cayenne GTS will get a 4.8-liter V-8 that puts 430 horsepower to the road. Now Porsche reports its moving the Cayenne GTS' debut to another, unrevealed date later this year, possibly September during the Paris Motor Show. The good news for the Porsche faithful is that the company is reserving Geneva for the reveal of the all-new 2012 Porsche Boxster. Automotive.com's take: Take your time, Porsche. The GTS trim is a high-performance model designed for a select few, and it's a good chance many of them won't really appreciate the difference under the skin, just the fact that the badge means their Cayenne cost more than their neighbors. On the other hand, the GTS adds a little bit of Porsche street cred to the Cayenne though, as the big SUV is still looked at askance by many of the company's core buyers.Source: autoevolution
