Mazda6 Wagon Revealed, Promptly Breaks America's Heart

The Moscow Motor Show is happening right now, as we speak. And just as Mazda threatened, Moscow is where the new Mazda6 sedan and wagon have been unveiled, in preparation for a grander unveil in Paris on the global stage. Yes, it looks good—just as we suspected it would. The new 6 bears more than a passing resemblence to the Takeri concept, more so if you squint. It's more aggressive and less milquetoast than the last baleen-like 6, and if the rest of Mazda's lineup slowly develops this look, consumers around the world will be all the better for it. The Mazda6 features new SKYACTIV technology—another not-very-idle threat from Mazda, carried out this time with the SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter diesel engine available with two levels of power. SKYACTIV-G gasoline engines will also take their forms in 2.0- and 2.5-liter guises. And lastly: in Europe, you will be able to buy a Mazda6 wagon with a diesel engine and a manual transmission. In America, you won't even be able to buy a wagon. C'est la vie, as they say over there (or across the river). In the meanwhile, we have the CX-5, the CX-9, great deals on the in-between CX-7, and the fact that we can buy a MX-5 Miata for $23,470 and write it off as a company car. USA! USA! USA! Source: Mazda
