McLaren Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Special Edition 12C and 12C Spider

McLaren is producing a commemorative model in celebration of its 50th anniversary. The McLaren 50 12C will be limited to 100 units globally, with that number split between 50 examples of the 12C and 50 of the 12C Spider. The special edition models feature a number of styling and specification enhancements, which have been produced by McLaren Special Operations in conjunction with the McLaren Automotive design team, led by Design Director, Frank Stephenson. Each new model will feature a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) front bumper that provides increased downforce, as well as giving the car a more dynamic visual impact. The lower section of the color-coded bumper will be constructed out of carbon fiber, with the front floor made from carbon Kevlar. The McLaren F1-inspired heritage badge will be fitted on the hood.
Both the 12C and 12C Spider will have carbon ceramic brake upgrades to offer enhanced stopping power, which will sit behind McLaren 50 Ultra Lightweight wheels in Satin Black. Taking a look inside, the special edition models receive a full leather upgrade, with subtle branding to the carbon fiber sill panel and floor mats. This is complimented by an anniversary dedication plate on the driver's door, highlighting the limited run. The models will be available in three color choices, including Carbon Black, Supernova Silver, and heritage McLaren Orange. Each McLaren 50 model will come will a monogrammed black and silver car cover, limited edition key, carbon fiber presentation key box, and a specially commissioned print signed by McLaren Automotive Design Director, Frank Stephenson. Pricing for the McLaren 50 12C will be roughly $253,000, and the 12C Spider will cost roughly $278,000. Source: Newspress USA
