The new Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG Racing Series concept will make its international debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show alongside the AMG-engineered CLA 250 Sport. The new concept features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that, with enough demand, will be release internationally. Designed for a handful of different race series, the CLA 45 AMG varies according to the specific rules, hoping to add on to the success of the previous SLS AMG GT3."The tremendous success of the SLS AMG GT3, which is now being raced by customer teams across five different continents, makes us highly confident," said CEO of Mercedes-AMG Ola Kallenius in a recent interview. This new concept features a wider track at the front and rear, with adjustable suspension, spring rate, and dampers to offer an individualized track setup. Carbon fiber front and rear aprons, wings, and side panels show off the CLA 45 AMG. Inside the new racing series concept is a roll-over cage made with high-strength steel, Recaro racing seats, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, and an integrated fire extinguisher system for added safety.
Looking at the new "engineered by AMG" CLA 250 Sport, it's clear that it was designed for the road. Its four-cylinder engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivers 211 horsepower. Set to go on sale in December of this year, the CLA 250 Sport features 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and "Sport" badges that are seen on the front wings. AMG has developed a special front axle for this new model, along with a new chassis and AMG speed-sensitive sport steering. The CLA 250 Sport offers a stylish interior and exterior, great performance, and a dynamic driving experience. Source: Daimler
