Mitsubishi Recalling Nearly 3200 Outlander SUVs

By Jason Davis | June 27, 2013
Mitsubishi is recalling 3,181 Outlander SUVs for a potential faulty panoramic moonroof. Vehicles manufactured between August 26, 2010 and March 29, 2011, may have been installed without primer being applied prior to the adhesive. The result, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is that the panoramic glass may detach from the vehicle due to reduced adhesion. Among worse scenarios, the detached glass could become a road hazard. Mitsubishi will notify owners of potentially affected vehicles; dealers will then check to see if the primer is present. If primer is not present, dealers will replace the glass. Mitsubishi has yet to provide a notification schedule, but concerned owners can reference recall number SR-13-007, contact Mitsubishi Motors North America at (888) 648-7820, or contact the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline at (888) 327-4236 for more details.
