More: Mazda Releases another 2014 Mazda6 Teaser Ahead of Paris

We're just over two months away from the 2012 Paris Motor Show, but Mazda is trickling out a series of teasers of its second major launch of the year, the 2014 Mazda6. The newest images are as dimly-lit as the ones we brought you yesterday, and no more revealing than the fender and grille teasers from last week, but we're starting to get an overall picture of what this car looks like. The aesthetic follows Mazda's new Kodo design language, and is decidedly more sporty and bold than the model it will replace. Mazda may be eyeballing the competition coming out of Korea, with the Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima both featuring more eye-catching designs than the stalwarts of the segment, the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The 2014 Mazda6 will follow in the Skyactiv footsteps of the 2013 CX-5, which employed lighter steel, new Skyactiv engines and transmissions, and an overall focus on fuel economy. Mazda has ruled out a V-6 option for the debut of the 2014 Mazda6, favoring a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that further shows the commitment to overall efficiency. Larger engines and a diesel-powered option could greet the midsize sedan in the future. Mazda is believed to be bringing a diesel engine to the U.S. market, likely to debut in the popular Mazda CX-5.
