More Volvos Available to Receive Polestar Performance Upgrades

By Jason Davis | November 28, 2011
Beginning next week, Polestar, Volvo's in-house tuning brand, will release its newest performance packages for Volvo T6 engines. The factory-authorized performance packs do not void the factory warranty, do not adversely affect fuel mileage, and with some mild software tweaks to the engine's computer, will add 25 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque. "Just a few weeks after announcing the performance package for select T5 models, we have already received tremendous feedback from our customers," said Chris Dauerer, Volvo Cars North America's vice president of customer service. "With Polestar, we are able to deliver our performance-minded customers the enhanced driving package they have been looking for now across a variety of our carlines." The impressive 325-hp T6 engine software package costs $1495, and is available on the 2011-2012 Volvo XC60 T6 R-Design, S60, and XC70. The Polestar performance package is already available on select T5 engines, including the 2008-2012 C30 T5, C70 T5, and S40 T5. Automotive.com's take: Premium upgrade for the Subaru STI and Mitsubishi Evo crowd? Yes. Source: Volvo
