Nissan High-Cross Concept Video Teased Ahead of Geneva Debut

By Jason Davis | February 27, 2012
From the self-claimed "undisputed leader in the crossover segment" comes this new crossover from Nissan: the High-Cross Concept, which will be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show on March 6, 2012. Other than a profile that vaguely resembles the U.S. market Nissan Murano, at the moment there are literally no confirmed details such as the size or the model positioning (is it a Murano replacement? If not, does it slot below the new Pathfinder and above the Murano, or below the Murano and above the Rogue?), engine displacement, fuel economy goals, or pricing. The UK's Autocar speculates that the concept will share the same platform as the never-been-available-in-the-US X-Trail, despite its dated platform. Autocar also expects the High-Cross Concept to be powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine. Of course, there is not yet any confirmation on this, or whether the curvy crossover will be front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive, or even whether it will make it stateside, though speculation suggests that Nissan would like to position it for sale in Europe by late 2013.
