Nissan Maxima Redesign to be Revealed at 2013 Detroit Auto Show

By | October 01, 2013
Earlier this year at "Nissan 360" test drive, teaser images of a new concept car were flashed across screens at an abandoned U.S. Air Force base, and only the curves and a GT-R like roofline were able to be seen. No other details were easily distinguished, but now the images have been pieced together to show the first rendering of the concept that will be unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. At the event, Nissan didn't have much to say about its latest concept, refusing to answer questions about the powertrain, possible name, or anything else. What we do know is that this will be the next-generation Maxima, with a slanted roofline mirrored from the GT-R, a headlight design seen on the Nissan Z, and C-pillars inspired by the Renault's design studio. The concept also sports a new V-signature Nissan grille. Situated nicely into the E-segment--that is, full-size sedans--this new Maxima concept has similar dimension to the new Infiniti Q70, and is based off Nissan's Common Model Family platform. It will have a front-wheel drive powertrain with two possible engine options, including a 3.7-liter V-6 or a 2.5-liter supercharged hybrid engine. A diesel variant may very well be on its way. The concept is expected to go on sale soon after its initial launch in 2015. Source: Motor Trend
