Nissan's Nismo Go-Fast Division Introduces Smartwatch Concept to Make You a Better Driver

And you thought the announcement that Samsung would be entering the smartwatch industry last week was a big deal. Nissan has decided to follow suit and introduced its own smartwatch. Called the Nismo Concept Smartwatch, we don't imagine that it will ever go into production, but we'd be surprised if its applications don't. Because they're kinda cool. Nissan says it's the first watch to connect both car and driver, and it will display both car and biometric data to make drivers better. That's right, it'll read your heart rate. Paragraphimage "Wearable technology is fast becoming the next big thing and we want to take advantage of this innovative technology to make our Nismo Brand more accessible," said Nissan's European Marketing Communications General Manager Gareth Dunsmore in a statement. "On track, Nissan uses the latest biometric training technologies to improve the performance of our Nissan Nismo Athletes and it is this technology we want to bring to our fans to enhance their driving experience and Nismo ownership." The Nismo watch will even be able to connect to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social media outlets to help share your data. The announcement of the Nismo Concept Smartwatch comes just a day ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show, giving a little bit of room for more important news from the Nissan Corporation, which also includes Infiniti and its Q30 concept. While this concept is new in the form of wearable technologies, you may remember BMW's M Power App that does many of the same things that was released a few months back. Still, with the emergence of smartwatches, we think that this might be one of the best uses yet. We can't wait to see how it works in collecting data around a racetrack. Source: Nissan
