Official: Volvo S60 Polestar to Debut Next Week

By Matthew Askari | June 07, 2012
There have been rumors on the web of Swedish automaker Volvo potentially teaming up with performance and tuning group Polestar to make a tuned Volvo S60. Today, on Volvo's official Facebook page, the automaker posted a teaser photo that indicates the rumors were true. The Volvo S60 Polestar is being hyped as a potential BMW M3, and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG fighter. The Volvo S60 is offered with a standard 2.5-liter five-cylinder, or optional 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, the latter of which is capable of producing 300-hp. While commendable and certainly no slouch, the S60 would be left in the dust compared to the performance versions coming out of Germany. Volvo hasn't released specifics yet on the S60 Polestar, but in a statement on its Facebook page, Volvo said it would be debuting June 16th at the Gothenburg city race. Source: Volvo
