Want a one-off 2013 SRT Viper GTS? Well, now is your chance, as the folks over at Chrysler Group's Street and Racing Technology division have created just that, and will auction it off with all proceeds going to the Sons of Italy Foundation. This specially built 2013 SRT Viper GTS features a tri-coat pearl white exterior paint, named Avorio Perla, and one-off multi-spoke black vapor chrome wheels. These wheels, while commonly available to all other SRT products, are making its debut on the new Viper. The white paint wasn't the only color considered for this one-off Viper GTS, though. The SRT design team played around with the idea of painting this one-off red and yellow, but ultimately, white won out. If you look closely, there's a small tribute to Italy behind the GTS badge on the front fenders. “What’s cool about this white is that it has a lot of travel in the color,” said Mark Trostle, head of SRT Design in a statement released by the automaker. “With it having some of this metallic pearl in it, it really shows off the shapes of the car very well. It catches a lot of light, especially on the hood. In the sunlight, it’s beautiful how it lights up. That’s one of the big pieces that makes the car unique.”
Inside, Laguna leather is slathered all over and the colors of the Italian flag run down the center of the front seats. The usual red Stryker logo sits prominently on the steering wheel and there are also red bezel accent, too. Like the GTS badging on the front fenders, the GTS badging on the glovebox sports some Italian flare as the G is in green, the T in white, and the S is in red.
"The sepia Laguna leather on the interior complements the exterior colors very well and really ties the whole theme of the car together,” said Trostle. “The sepia interior makes it that much more special and gives it a very elegant look. We didn’t want to make the car overtly green white and red, but we wanted to do the colors in a subtle way.” As for the benefiting cause, the Sons of Italy Foundation, it will receive 100 percent of all proceeds from this auction. The Sons of Italy Foundation is part of the Order of Sons of Italy in America, which helps struggling men and women of Italian descent living in America. This is accomplished by doling out scholarships, contributing to medical research, and help to preserve the Italian culture stateside.
