Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition to Debut in Frankfurt

When you think Porsche, the image that comes to mind is likely that of a 911. Available this fall the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition will celebrate the automaker's storied model on an important milestone. Like the original Porsche 911, the Special Edition will be powered by a flat-six-cylinder engine, will be rear-wheel-drive, and is promised to offer true sports car driving dynamics that remain the essence of the brand.
Building on the Porsche 911 Carrera S, the 50th Anniversary Edition will have a wider body, and will limit production to 1,963 models, representing the year the model first debuted at the Frankfurt Auto Show. In the US buyers will count on a Powerkit which ups power to 430 hp, and reaches 60 mph from rest in just 4.2 seconds when fitted with the seven-speed manual transmission. And the optional Porsche PDK automatic transmission with shift paddles cuts that time down to 3.8 seconds.  With a top speed of at least 185 mph, the 911 50th Anniversary Edition will also leave you longing for the autobahn. Porsche has also outfitted the limited edition model with unique 20-inch wheels with a black matte finish. The Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition starts at $125,050 after delivery, and will be available in the fall.
