Recall Central: Ford C-Max, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Lotus Evora

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued several new recalls, and we've got them rounded up in one handy place. Owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max, 2011 Lotus Evora S, and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra Trucks can find out more about the recalls affecting their particular models below. 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid The Issue Ford is recalling 33,021 2013 C-Max Hybrid models without a panoramic roof, as it was discovered during vehicle testing that the model doesn't conform to safety standards. In the event of a rear-impact collision, the driver could suffer a serious head injury. The Fix Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install energy absorbers to mitigate the impact during a collision. The recall is expected to begin August 19, 2013. Additionally owners can call the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline at (888) 327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safecar.gov 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra The Problem GM is issuing a recall for a pair its popular pickup models, as welding on the airbag could fracture, allowing some gas from the airbag to escape. As a consequence, the airbag may not fully inflate, leading to an increased risk of injury. The Fix GM will contact owners, and dealers will replace the air bag module, free of charge.
