Recall Roundup: Honda Element and Ridgeline, Lamborghini Gallardo

By Matthew Askari | September 14, 2012
In our Recall Roundup this week, Honda has a pair of vehicles being recalled for separate issues, and Lamborghini has issued a recall on 2004-06 models of its Gallargo model. 2007-2011 Honda Element The Problem: Honda is recalling Element crossovers equipped with an accessory trailer hitch wiring harness. There is an issue with the wiring, and turn-signal indicators only illuminate on the trailer when the car is braking. Without other drivers on the road being able to clearly see the trailer driver's intention, there is an increased risk of an accident. What's Being Done: 5,126 vehicles are believed to be affected. Honda will notify owners and correct the issue without charge. Owners can contact Honda directly at (800) 999-1009, and use campaign ID# S53 or contact the NHTSA at (888) 327-4236 or at www.safecar.gov. Paragraphimage 2012 Honda Ridgeline The Problem: An incorrect front seat airbag indicator light may be installed. Occupants may not know whether an airbag is or is not set to deploy in the event of an accident. What's Being Done: 17 vehicles are believed to be affected. Honda will replace the indicator light without charge. Owners can contact Honda directly at (800) 999-1009 and use campaign ID# S52 or contact the NHTSA at (888) 327-4236 or at www.safecar.gov. Paragraphimage 2004-06 Lamborghini Gallardo The Problem: In certain driving conditions, high pressure steering pumps can leak. If exposed to flame, the fluid could catch fire. What's Being Done: Lamborghini will update the power steering at no cost to owners. Owners may contact Lamborghini at (703) 364-7042, or contact the NHTSA at (888) 327-4236 or at www.safecar.gov.
