Renault Strike No Lasting Harm
Just like most auto makers in the world today, French manufacturer Renault is feeling pain. It believes that it has to bite the bullet and let some workers go. Recently the company announced that it would be dropping 4,000 workers. In response, workers walked off the job at several factories around France. The walkouts lasted for just one or two hours, according to union leaders, and Renault said that there was no effect to all of its factories. Renault plans to cut the 4,000 by April, 2009. It also expects to cut another 2,000 workers in other locations in Europe. via Channelnewsasia
