Road Trip: Driving a 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 from Mexico to Canada

By Keith Buglewicz | April 07, 2013
The road called, and we answered, with 4,000 pounds of Header Orange muscle car, a 1,500-mile straight shot north, and enough time to stop and smell the roses...and pumice. One of the great joys of being a car enthusiast living in the United States is the Interstate system. Yes, we know, it gets a bad rap as being boring, and straight, and featureless. But that's only true if you're only thinking of the destination, and not the journey itself. We had the keys to a 470-horsepower 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8, complete with a manual transmission, and an unlimited number of miles to accrue. We also have one of the Interstate's more heavily traveled routes right near our offices, and a news director itching to get behind the wheel. So come ride along on his way from the San Ysidro border crossing on his way to the Canadian border four days later.
