Select 2014 Chevrolet Models to Offer Siri Eyes Free Integration
Distracted driving remains one of the top reasons for car accidents, thanks to texts, calls, and emails that come through while driving. In an effort to get eyes away from smartphones and other devices and back on the road, Chevrolet has introduced Siri Eyes Free Integration on select 2014 model, including the Camaro, Cruse, Equinox, Malibu, SS sports sedan, and Volt. Now, customers with an iPhone 4S or newer with Siri capabilities can use this new technology to make voice-activated, hands-free calls, play songs through their iTunes libraries, switch stations from AM/FM/XM, compose, send, and listen to an iMessage or text message, and access the Calendar app and add appointments. "The response to Siri Eyes Free integration in Chevy Sonic and Spark (Note: It has been available for a while in those cars.) from our customers has been remarkable. Easy, reliable and portable connectivity is a top priority for our customers, and Siri complements MyLink's existing capabilities to help deliver an incredible driving experience, so we're excited to expand this to even more customers," said Chris Perry, Chevrolet vice president of U.S. Marketing, in a recent statement. Customers with iPhones running iOS 6 or 7 will be able to use Siri through voice-activated commands, keeping eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. The new system works through Bluetooth and MyLink. Owners simply have to pair their phones, and press the steering wheel voice activation button to engage Siri Eyes Free. Source: Chevrolet
