Spied! 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Wearing New Nose and Tail Lamps

By Jacob Brown | May 01, 2013
You saw the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS and Z/28 at the New York Auto Show, each sporting a new nose and tail lights, among other tweaks. Now we're starting to see them testing on the roads. All models get LED single-piece tail lights, as seen in the pictures. As for that aggressive front end, though? You know the one with the small grille that debuted in New York, it doesn't look like it's going to make it onto all Camaro models. At least it's not going to make it onto the sports car-slaying, 580-horsepower 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 from what we can tell. We hear that its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 might just be too tall for the new look, with its hood raised above that of most other Camaros. The similarly styled Chevrolet Camaro 1LE and Z/28 ought to have the new schnoz, which we think is quite the feat of engineering seeing how the Z/28's 7.0-liter V-8 is going to take up quite a bit of real estate.
From what we've seen, the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE might be getting a little extra spice, as a picture of it testing shows quad exhaust pipes like the Camaro ZL1's. For 2013, the Camaro 1LE was endowed with one exhaust pipe per side. The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro is going to be headlined by the Z/28, which may end up being down on power versus the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1, but it will be stripped out, track-focused, and come with standard carbon ceramic brakes, which are ordinarily a high four-figure option.
