"Spy" Photo of 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup Gives Best View Yet

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. That seems to be the going motto over at Chevy, where the next-generation 2014 Chevrolet Silverado full-size pickup is undergoing its final evaluations before it hits the production line and showroom floor sometime in early 2013. During the process, Chevy has taken its new pickup out into the wild, where it has predictably been photographed by spy photographers on more than one occasion. Well, nuts to that, says Chevy. Here's a mostly undisguised photograph, supplied by Chevrolet itself, of the Silverado doing some testing at GM's proofing grounds in Milford, Mich. While the truck is shown on a smooth surface, Chevrolet promises that it has undergone extensive testing to ensure a "comfortable, well-balanced ride." One thing we can tell, however, is that Chevy doesn't appear to be taking any chances with its styling, as the new truck seems to look a lot like the current one. However, we can see hints of a more aggressive grille, and a lower bumper that extends closer to the ground; we suspect to help improve aerodynamics, and thus improve fuel economy on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. Of course, this isn't the first time Chevy has put the screws to the spy photographer hordes. A few months ago, it pulled a similar trick, giving us a head-on view of the truck which, frankly didn't really tell us much beyond demonstrating that the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado will, in fact, be water resistant. Stay tuned for the full unveil of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado sometime soon as auto show season gets underway. Source: Chevrolet
