SRT Color Kitchen: How to Choose the Right Color
From the stunning red shown on the 2013 SRT Viper at last year's New York Auto Show debut, to the Header Orange on the 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 we recently road tripped, Chrysler's high-performance division has some striking colors. In this video, SRT explains its process. It starts with the brand and what it says. The paint team looks at the key elements of the vehicle to determine just what type of attitude the vehicle has and what color will best represent that. From concept colors to brand staples, the SRT team knows how to make their vehicles stand out. It's hard to grasp everything that Jim Parker, Head of Exterior Color at SRT is saying in this short three minute video, but one thing is clear. Each color choice is deliberate and thoroughly thought out. The colors don't immediately end up on the car, but go through stages of mock ups. The inspiration for colors rests mainly with the brands SRT works with, and the aspects highlighted on specific models. Watch the video below to learn more about how SRT chooses the best paint colors for its vehicles and to get a sneak peek of what colors you can expect to see, and see again, for the new model year.
