Supercar Sunday: Fernando Alonso Drives the LaFerrari

By | August 11, 2013
Fernando Alonso, one of the greats of Formula 1 racing, takes the latest Ferrari out on the track to assess its capabilities for himself. The LaFerrari is one of the fastest supercars on the road today, so why not have one of the fastest drivers put it through a course? Before Alonso headed out for the Hungarian Grand Prix, he had the opportunity to try out the latest development phase of the fasted car ever made in Maranello for everyday use. The LaFerrari delivers 963 horsepower from the combination of the electric motor and the V-12 engine. It is also one of the first hybrids to come through the gates on Via Abetone Inferiore. Both Fernando Alonso and his teammate Felipe Massa have been involved in the production of the LaFerrari since the beginning of the project. They've both contributed their unique insights to the Ferrari engineers and other test drivers, helping to bring this car to life. Although it's nothing like the cars they're used to driving, there is no question that while Alonso was on the track, he enjoyed his time in the LaFerrari.
