Supercar Sunday: NSX Concept-GT and LF-CC Concept GT
Both Lexus Racing and Honda have announced that they will both be producing race cars based on their two concepts, the LF-CC and NSX Concept. Each vehicle will be competing in the Super GT Series GT500 class in the upcoming season. The new Lexus LF-CC will replace the current Lexus SC 430 that is currently competing in the Super GT races. Back in September 2012, Lexus debuted the LF-CC two-door coupe concept that featured a dynamic exterior which emphasized aerodynamics as well as cooling performance. The vehicle shakedown of the LF-CC GT will begin at the Suzuka Circuit later this afternoon. The NSX Concept-GT is heavily based on the NSX concept that debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit last January. It currently complies with all GT500 regulations, and along with a mid-mounted 2.0 L inline direct-injected four-cylinder turbo engine, the NSX Concept-GT also features a racing hybrid system. Before its debut, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. ran a prototype of the NSX at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course earlier this month on the final day of "the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio," which was Round 14 of the IndyCar series. Both of these new race vehicles will draw plenty of attention to themselves leading up to the beginning of the 2014 Super GT Series. Source: Lexus, Honda
