Toyota FT-86 II Concept Continues to Tease before 2011 Frankfurt Appearance

Toyota continues to tantalize the autosphere with images and video of the FT-86 II concept, the long-awaited successor to the Supra and Celica. Originally making an appearance at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show back in March, the FT-86 II concept is first major result of Toyota's partnership with Subaru. Both parties continue to hold official details about engine specifics and transmission choices close to the chest. What is known is the rear-wheel drive Toyota FT-86 II will be powered by some form of Subaru-sourced four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Oh, and the concept's Lexus LFA-esque design is courtesy of the automaker's European design center. The Toyota FT-86 II is scheduled to make an appearance today at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Hopefully Toyota will add something new. Until then, enjoy the images and video.
