Trio of Small Chevrolet Crossovers to Take Over Showrooms in 2013

By Jacob Brown | August 23, 2011
With small cars being big again, rumor has it that General Motors will be attacking the compact crossover segment with a trio of new soft-roaders. Confirmed through sources at GMInsideNews, two of the crossovers are slated as Chevrolets. The first one will be a small crossover aimed at the likes of the Nissan Juke in the spirit of the Chevrolet Trax concept from the 2007 New York Auto Show. The second will be a tall-roof wagon similar to the Chevrolet Groove concept car that was also featured in New York. The third, likely to be a Chevrolet as well, will be a heritage-inspired wagon similar to the now-defunct HHR. However, according to sources, it has not yet been approved for production. An alternative could be introducing the next generation of the Chevrolet Cruze hatchback in the U.S., a vehicle GM opted to not sell here despite its global availability. All three are expected to be built on the same structure that underpins the 2012 Chevrolet Aveo subcompact and the even smaller Chevrolet Spark hatchback. Expect to see the first creation of this duo or possible trio for the 2013 model year. Source: GMInsideNews
