Video: 850-hp Nissan GT-R Tangles with Suzuki Hayabusa in Drag Race

If you thought the 2012 Nissan GT-R was just about the most insane thing on four wheels you could get, the Switzer tuning shop has something to say about that. Amping-up Godzilla, the Switzer R850 cranks up the power from what was a 485 horsepower pre-refresh GT-R and gives it a helping of go-fast parts, a built-up transmission, and race fuel to give the 3900-lbs sports car a boost to a reported 850 horsepower to help pick up the pace. And the results are dramatic. The Switzer R850 hangs neck and neck with one of the quickest motorcycles in the world, the 198-horsepower Suzuki Hayabusa. While it can be argued that a $14,000 motorcycle shouldn’t be the basis of comparison for a car that costs an additional $35,990 over a standard $90,000 GT-R, consider that the Suzuki weighs just 561 lbs and has a better power-to-weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
